“Album Quality” Production in a Film Library

Wolftone Music was founded by Michael Kramer in 2002 as an offshoot of a successful collaboration with the Hollywood surf/exotica band “The Blue Hawaiians”. After several successful and well received albums together (with Michael producing and engineering), word within the film industry spread about the unique sound of this band and their recordings. Film and television placements followed, and a music library was born.

The goal of Wolftone Music has always been to create music employing the highest standards of production quality and originality. We supply fresh and unique sounding music cues to discriminating directors, music supervisors and editors. Working with some of LA’s most creative and talented musicians and bands, and refusing to use sampled instruments or midi programming for the sake of convenience or speed, the Wolftone Music library is essentially a collection of short “album cuts” – productions that would stand up to any independent album releases. These music cues range in style from surf exotica/ lounge/ film noir to roots/Americana, rock, reggae, jazz & swing, and world music.

Creating music with the highest sound quality, and using acoustic instruments and exotic sounds and textures, our cues are instantly more engaging and fresher sounding than the majority of stock film music available. With the addition of a new series of high energy cuts featuring full horn sections, as well as some vibrant jazz and Latin cues, the goal of “honest album quality production” for discriminating film and television projects continues.
